Why honey? Have you gone poo poo? Yes...
Can someone please tell me who is in control here? Because, I am not thinkin it's me...
Little Anna was so close to being potty trained and then I went to China- she is so makin me pay for it! The dear girl wakes up dry... excuse me did you hear what I said... DRY and still refuses to sit on the potty and do her business. So I put her back in her nighttime diaper and let her proceed and change her a half hour later. Okay, I know I am supposed to sit with her forever on the potty and someday something really good will happen... like when she is 14. Okay JK...
This summer my little petunia will not be in Montessori, she will be home full time with me and I am embarrassed to say I was hoping we would be done with this before the summer so I looked like I knew what I was doing ;-) This is not the case. There are many things I can do well but I am not so sure about this- my 3 younger bio boys were trained at 3 yrs old and it was easy! They basically said-
"Mom, I want big boy underwear"
"No, problem honey, here is is!"
From what I can remember, that was it!
Anna has a royal potty! She has lovely big girl underwear! She has a potty seat for the big girl toilet. She knows that she will get candy when she goes potty. What else do I need to do? Maybe the timing is off?? Maybe I should put it all away and then SURPRISE here it is?
Any thoughts for this overly veteran Mom?? I know it's kind of pathetic!
On another note, Anna has a backpack. A Dora backpack to be exact! She keeps her homework and her blankie in there and yes, it is so cute I can hardly stand it!

Oh that sweet girl!! I'm starting to think that our girls, having spent so much time in split pants, they are just enjoying the comfort and convenience of their carry-around potty place!!
No progress in our house either! But I'm very thankful that at least Lucy goes poo on the potty!
What worked for our Annah is letting her go maked from the waist down here at the house for a couple days. I would just put a long t shirt on her and we devoted a couple days to staying home. She seem to figure out quick that since she didn't have a pull up on or panties she needed to get to the potty quick. That was in January when she turned 3 and she has been trained every since. I think this is the method Dr. Phil raves about!
I really should use spell check. lol..... I meant *naked not maked. Sorry
Had the same thing happen with my little one - I'd put on a pullup and she'd pee, and then she'd throw it in the garbage and help herself to a new one. She was still wearing pullups to bed until about age 5 1/2. From what I understood, it has something to do with the way their body is made, some type of signal (chemical? hormonal?) that just comes later for some children, earlier for others.
I am so with you on this one! I have a 3 year old with the SAME attitude about going potty! She refuses! She is dry every morning and still refuses. She went last summer quite a bit then we went on vacation and she hasn't gone potty since. She says that Toliets have germs on them! Good luck to you and let me know what works for you! I don't think they will wear depends to Kindergarten...however its not looking like she has any plans to not do that any time soon!
I have 4 other children that potty trained at early 2.
I'm just spending some time catching up (BTW, just read today's post on your other blog EXCITING!!)
So, my darling daughter #2 loved her diapers. If I put her in panties she would hold it, but refused to go on any toilet, only diapers. I finally realized that if I took her diaper off and let her roam like that eventually she would have to go. The only thing she hated more than sitting on the potty was not having diapers on, she cried and cried. It was difficult, not because she wouldn't hold it, but because she refused to go on the toilet, but within a couple of days of no diaper, she had it figured out! She still refuses to go on squatty toilets!
