Do your kids do this, too??

Is it my children or do all children do this???? I love taking pics of them and documenting our journey but Anna is not a willing subject... She will close her eyes and turn her head when it is picture time. Everyone else has these adorable children that smile brightly for the camera and my pretty little Anna will do anything she can to sabotage the mini photo session. If you knew how many pics I have to take just to get one decent pic- where they are looking in the same direction, at the same time, WITH their eyes open you would think I was crazy. Anna is beginning to influence her sister too- so that makes it even harder. Plus my camera has a slight delay so when I take the pic- that's not the one I get... here let me show you... seeeeeee...argh...

In that first pic- all I have to say it "Girls, can we try a little harder!" "Please try to smile"!
My best pics of Anna are when I catch her off guard and she hasn't had time to plan her escape! Many of those are not smiling pics but hey, I'll take what I can get! Does anyone out there have any ideas? How do you do it? Yes, I have stooped so low as to offer candy (hoping that they will forget about my bribe by the time we are done with picture taking). They won't even perform for candy?

y kids are so hard to get good pictures of, especially when I try to get everyone at once. Thank goodness for digitial cameras.

Our little one is very hard to get photos of too. It has always been this way. Only if SHE is in the mood, does it ever work.
You were witness to how she acted yesterday for a group photo. I was so disappointed.
Even if it's just the two of us, she will only be nice about it if SHE is in the mood.
I have no suggestions. But I've decided maybe the best thing to do is to try to get more candids and even TRY to find the beauty in no smiles or her not looking at the camera.

Hi, I don't know if this is the best place to post this but I stumbled upon one of your blogs by accident (God) and it has been a blessing. I have just finished reading your Journey to Me posts- yes, all of them in one sitting. We are bringing home a 7.5 year old daughter from China in March (LOA, Jan. 27th)and I rarely find any candid view in a blog on adopting an older child so I can't thank you enough for being honest and open. I am going to give my hubby the site to read because he is so worried about how to interact with her. I believe your blog gives a good view of what our experience could be like (of course we know all children are different)and will help us on how to interact with her. You mentioned several times about books you read about older child adoption, if you could recommend one of the books which would it be? I want to read but don't have time to read them all before we go. You have a precious family and I look forward to following your journey!
